The Hengqin Marathon, which began to be held in 2018, is an A1 event recognized by the Chinese Athletics Association, and was awarded a bronze medal event by the Chinese Athletics Association in 2020, and won the honor of "The Most Beautiful Track Event".

The competition was held in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and the competition passed through landmark buildings and scenic spots with Hengqin and Macao characteristics, such as the Financial Island, Wetland Park, Tianmu River Park, Hengqin International Tennis Center, Hengqin Port and Flower Sea Promenade, fully demonstrating the rapid development of Guangdong-Macao cooperation.

In addition to the increasing hard power and beautiful track, the Hengqin Marathon has also joined hands with Macao to create a sports + tourism concept. The Hengqin Marathon has provided a new platform for the joint development and exchange of Hengqin and Macao, as well as the development of Hengqin as an international leisure tourism island.
