2022 Hengqin Life Hengqin Marathon
Started in 2018, the Hengqin Marathon is a unique "round-the-island" marathon in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which has been successfully held for four times, and was rated as the bronze medal event of the Chinese Athletics Association and the most beautiful track event in 2020.
This year's Hengqin Life Hengqin Marathon is certified by the Chinese Athletics Association, co-sponsored by the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Zhuhai Huafa Group and Macau Nam Kwong Group, undertaken by Huafa Sports and Nam Kwong Cultural and Creative Marathon, supported by the Chinese Athletics Association and the Macau Athletics Association, and guided by the Guangdong Provincial Athletics Association.
The scale of this year's event reached 12,000 participants, including 3,000 marathon runners, 6,000 half marathon runners, and 3,000 mini marathon runners. This year's marathon attracted more than 500 Macao runners, a doubling of the previous marathon, and the Hengqin Marathon provides a platform for the joint development and exchange between Zhuhai and Macao, and is gradually becoming an effective channel for Macao residents to learn more about Hengqin and Zhuhai, promoting the continuous deepening of sports cooperation between Guangdong and Macao, and contributing to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

This year's event attracted more than 500 Macao compatriots to participate, who won the marathon half marathon championship in Hong Kong and Macau, Wang Kun, a physical education teacher from Macau Baptist High School, participated in the Hengqin Marathon for the second time, and he won the second place in the men's half marathon in 2020. "I came from Macau early this morning, and it only took half an hour from leaving home to arriving at the competition venue, which is really convenient!" In this year's Hengqin Marathon, the "Public Welfare Piano Horse" continued to show its charm. Since the first Hengqin Marathon in 2018, the Chinese White Dolphin Conservation Charity Running Group has participated in the Marathon for four consecutive years.
The running group has more than 200 members, composed of athletes from the Zhuhai Disabled Persons' Federation, staff from the White Dolphin Sanctuary and Mangrove Reserve, parent-child families, and volunteers from public welfare organizations such as Huafa Public Welfare Foundation, Red Cross, Municipal Charity Federation, and Municipal Volunteer Federation.
In this year's event, the members of the running group wore white dolphin-themed T-shirts and gathered at the end of the mini-marathon track to pick up garbage on the track while running, practicing the road of green environmental protection with a solid and powerful pace.

Previously, with the support and guidance of the People's Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, the Sports Federation of the Cooperation Zone was established, which will play a very important role in further prospering and developing the cultural and sports undertakings of the Cooperation Zone and promoting the national fitness movement.
