There is still half a year to go before the start of the 2018 Zhuhai WTA Super Classic, China's annual finale tennis tournament, and as the highlight of this series of activities, the 4th Zhuhai University Tennis Invitational Tournament will be played before the May Day holiday. A total of 16 universities from Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macao gathered at the Hengqin Tennis Center again and staged nearly 240 exciting battles.

The competition is divided into "student group", "faculty group" and "leading cadre group". Among them, the student group covers men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles and other "Grand Slam" combinations, the faculty group is limited to men's and women's doubles and mixed doubles, and the leading cadre group is played in doubles regardless of gender, and the competition is carried out in the form of group round-robin.

Last year's team competition, the last three teams of Guangdong Institute of Science and Technology, Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Branch and the University of Macau this year welcomed the challenge of Hong Kong Chinese University, Hong Kong Baptist University, The Education University of Hong Kong and other Hong Kong schools, the three Hong Kong schools sent a total of more than 20 people to compete in this competition, including Natasja, a Netherlands player from the University of Hong Kong Chinese, became one of the foreign players in this year's competition, which is also her first time to participate in the University Tennis Invitational Tournament.

"I am very happy to be here in Zhuhai and am honored to represent Chinese University of Hong Kong in the competition. This is the first time I have been with many schools in Guangdong Province and Macau, and I look forward to winning today's competition. It is reported that the top three players in this year's student group will be qualified for the 2018 Zhuhai WTA Super Elite Official Player Event, and all players who sign up for the competition will receive 2 weekday billiards tickets for the 2018 Zhuhai WTA Super Classic, which is also an important measure for the Zhuhai WTA Super Elite Official Committee to fully support the development of amateur tennis events in Zhuhai and Guangdong Province.

There are a large number of colleges and universities in Zhuhai, with more than 120,000 college students currently enrolled, and the development of tennis among college students has been in full swing. In the past two years, the Zhuhai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have actively implemented the "National Fitness Program", not only to build and update the hardware facilities of tennis in the community parks in the urban area, but also to spare no effort in the promotion of the campus.
