On June 20, the 2019-2020 Zhuhai Amateur Tennis League kicked off at the Hengqin International Tennis Center, with a total of 16 teams and hundreds of tennis enthusiasts from all regions and units in the city participating in this tennis event. This is the first amateur tennis league held in Zhuhai, and it is also the first city-level tennis tournament held in Zhuhai under the normalization of the epidemic.

The event is hosted by the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, undertaken by Zhuhai Huafa Sports Operation and Management Co., Ltd., and is expected to be completed in two months with the support of the China Sports Lottery Community Chest for Zhuhai tennis enthusiasts.

The 16 teams are divided into two groups, the elite group and the Tongle group, which adopt the team competition mode, and will use the annual event points ranking as the basis for the promotion of the participating teams in the next year, and this competition system will continue in each year to form the characteristic model of the Zhuhai Amateur Tennis League.

Wu Xiangming, deputy director of the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Sports, attended the event and said that this was the first time that an amateur tennis league was held in Zhuhai, and he hoped that the public would strengthen their bodies and strengthen their immunity through tennis. Promote the popularization of tennis in Zhuhai with the event, promote the improvement of the competitive level of tennis enthusiasts, strive to develop tennis into the city card of Zhuhai, and contribute to the construction of a cultural and sports strong Zhuhai.

According to the relevant person in charge of Huafa Sports, since the resumption of business, Hengqin International Tennis Center has strictly followed the guidelines of the epidemic prevention department to do a good job in epidemic prevention and control and investigation measures, and made every effort to provide a safe and healthy sports place for tennis enthusiasts. It has been in close communication with relevant institutions of the event, and is preparing for events such as the Zhuhai WTA Super Classic, the Zhuhai Tennis Championship, and the 2020 Hengqin Marathon.

It is reported that in order to let more Zhuhai citizens know about tennis, Huafa Sports will also carry out tennis promotion activities in about 10 communities in Zhuhai in the near future. The community activities integrate fun games, tennis classes, cultural displays, and are equipped with professional coaches for on-site guidance.
