In order to better promote the development of tennis in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and cultivate the popularity and interest of young people in tennis. Funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, undertaken by the Guangdong Tennis Association, and organized by Huafa Sports, the opening ceremony of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Sports Development Program and Tennis Training (Zhuhai Phase I) kicked off at 9 a.m. on June 13 at the Hengqin International Tennis Center in Zhuhai.



Since the training plan was issued, it has received enthusiastic responses from all walks of life, attracting a total of 125 people to sign up, after agility, coordination, balance and athletic ability and other layers of tests, finally 64 young students stood out and were successfully selected for the training program for 2 hours a week, a period of four weeks, a total of 4 training courses.



Nearly 200 people, including relevant leaders, guests, students and parents of students from the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Guangdong Tennis Association, Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Sports, and Huafa Sports Operation and Management Co., Ltd., participated in the opening ceremony. At the scene, Ms. Ren Jun, Director of the Hong Kong Jockey Club's Domestic Sports Program, delivered a speech on the stage, talking about the original intention and expectation of this teaching and training, hoping to provide a channel for young people in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to enter tennis, and to place good expectations on the young players to learn the rules of tennis, exercise their physique, learn to communicate and cooperate with others, and lay the cornerstone for their future generations. Mr. Zeng Yuchang, vice chairman of the Guangdong Tennis Association, mentioned that the teaching and training teachers are strong, and the head coach is the former national team coach - Coach He Dongbo, and the coaches are all provincial professional teamsRetired athlete with rich teaching experience and deep qualifications. During the period when the epidemic is not serious, the sports department will actively organize various sports events and activities, resume the national fitness movement in a timely manner, enhance the public's awareness of exercise, and provide them with more opportunities to exercise.



Many parents at the scene said that today is the first time for their children to really get in touch with tennis, and they are very happy to have such training to lead children who are interested in tennis to get started, help children strengthen their physique, and hope to hold more such training activities in the future. The young players who participated in the training also said that although they were a little tired from training today, they had a lot of gains, learned skills such as gripping, pitching, and catching, and had a lot of fun, and were looking forward to next week's class.


It is worth mentioning that on the eve of the opening ceremony, the leaders of the Guangdong Tennis Association and the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Sports and Tourism visited the Hengqin International Tennis Center yesterday and took the lead in launching a unique tennis warm-up friendly exchange match with Huafa Sports, learning from each other, exchanging gifts with each other, and expressing their deepest friendship and blessings to each other. He also discussed with the leaders of the Hong Kong Jockey Club how to resume tennis events after the epidemic, and discussed the development of some mass and adult-to-adult tennis exchange activities and youth tennis popularization activities in Guangdong, so as to promote the full development of tennis events in the second half of the year.
