The 2025 Hengqin Marathon witnesses the integration of Hengqin and Macao

At 7:30 a.m. on December 28, Chenguang Xiwei Middle School, with the starting gun, the 2025 Hengqin Life Insurance Hengqin Marathon started in Hengqin. Runners from all over the world gathered in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the Cooperation Zone) in Hengqin to measure this hot land full of vitality and opportunities with their footsteps.


As a large-scale brand sports event in the cooperation zone, the Hengqin Marathon is gradually becoming an important bridge for residents of Hengqin and Macao to enhance understanding and deepen friendship. This event attracted 16,000 runners, including 679 Macao runners and 340 Hong Kong runners, and like-minded runners ran together, becoming a vivid portrayal of the integration of Hengqin and Macao and the coordinated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.


The event has set up a special collection area in Macao, and provides Macau shuttle bus service on the day of the competition. In addition, the medals and uniforms deeply integrate the cultural elements of Hengqin and Macao, and also launch 12 sports hats, badges, towels and other peripheral cultural and creative products that integrate the landmarks of the two places.


The event continues the classic route around the island, starting from the Central Park of Hengqin Financial Island, passing through Hengqin Financial Island, Hengqin Port, Tianmuqin Terrace, Hengqin Culture and Art Center, Mangzhou Wetland Park, Flower Sea Promenade and other Hengqin landmarks and attractions, as well as overlooking the Macao Tower. The track is scenic and flat and open along the way, providing good conditions for the runners to create good results.


After fierce competition, the men's championship of the 2025 Hengqin Marathon was won by Zhu Jialin with a time of 02:25:38, and Cui Jiale and Wan Lei won the runner-up and third place respectively. In the women's group, Dong Yunyun took the lead in crossing the line with a time of 02:55:20, followed by Xu Meiling and Yang Ye. In the half marathon event, the men's championship was won by Cui Weikang, and the women's championship belonged to Wei Chunhua.


This event was certified as a Class A event by the Chinese Athletics Association, hosted by the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, undertaken by Zhuhai Huafa Group Co., Ltd. and Nam Kwong (Group) Co., Ltd., operated by Zhuhai Huafa Sports Operation Management Co., Ltd. and Nanguang Cultural and Creative Industry Co., Ltd., and supported by the Macau Athletics Association.
